Grillz Wax
Take a dental impression, hand-carve a wax model, and cast your own silver grillz.
This course teaches the traditional, hand-carved path to a finished grillz piece: taking a dental impression and mold, carving a wax model directly on that mold, understanding the lost-wax casting process, and finishing and fitting your own cast silver grillz. You'll take home a toolkit to keep working right away.

Duration: 5 days (Monday–Friday)
Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (one-hour lunch)
Class size: 6 students max
Prerequisite: None — open to anyone with a passion for making grillz

Day-by-Day
Day 1 — Impressions and mold making: intro to grillz making and safety, taking a dental impression with dental putty, and creating a mold.
Day 2 — Wax modeling: wax carving tools and technique, hand-carving a wax model on your dental mold.
Day 3 — Introduction to casting: the lost-wax casting process for gold or silver, including a demonstration of melting and pouring molten metal.
Day 4 — Finishing and polishing: cleaning, initial filing, and polishing technique for a smooth, high-shine finish.
Day 5 — Fitting and final touches: fitting your grillz to the dental cast, adjusting for comfort and aesthetics, and finishing touches.
