About the Course
Stone Setting Fundamentals
One setting style per day: prong, bezel, flush, star, and channel — each fully laid out, seated, and finished.
Since Preparation Class already covers workbench, tool, and equipment setup, this course goes straight into applying five setting styles for round stones. Each day covers one style from start to finish: layout and spacing, cutting and preparing the seat, and setting the stone secure and level.

What This Class Doesn't Cover Workbench, tool, and equipment setup, and graver sharpening — covered in Preparation Class, a prerequisite for this course. Bead setting is not covered in this course. Non-round stone shapes (princess, emerald, marquise, and similar cuts are covered in Fancy Shape Gemstone Setting) and micropavé row-setting layouts (covered in Micropavé I and related courses).
What You'll Leave With Practice plates and rings demonstrating all five setting techniques — the foundation for moving into any of the specialty pavé or fancy-shape courses next.
